Engaged Experience
At St. Thomas More, we offer a two-day program for engaged couples called Engagement Experience. This program is required for all couples getting married at St. Thomas More.
It is also available for couples who are planning to get married at another Catholic Church.
The two-day experience is not overnight.

More About Our Program
Engagement is a time of both excitement and stress for couples. The excitement stems from the anticipation of formally committing to each other in a deep and intimate partnership. However, this period also brings about various stresses, from the fear of making such a significant commitment to the overwhelming task of planning a wedding.
It is common for couples to focus solely on wedding preparations during their engagement. While the wedding is a momentous occasion to celebrate their love with loved ones, the engagement period holds far greater significance. The way a couple navigates this time can greatly impact their future married life. It is a crucial period for couples to prepare themselves for the sacrament of marriage, which is considered a vocation by the Church.
Engagement presents an opportunity for couples to deepen their love, experience spiritual growth, and gain new insights and experiences. For those seeking a Christian marriage, the importance of this time is heightened due to the sacred Sacrament they will soon partake in. It is a time for couples to focus on their relationship, strengthen their bond, and prepare themselves for a lifelong commitment to each other.

- Effective Communication
- Shared Values
- Conflict Resolution
- Financial Planning
- Natural Family Planning
- Intimacy in Marriage
- Building a Strong Marriage and Family
- Nurturing Faith in Marriage
- Setting Goals for the Future
These topics are designed to help couples strengthen their relationship and prepare for a successful marriage.
Location
All sessions will take place at the St. Thomas More Community Center, culminating in a parish Mass on Saturday at 4:00 pm, where engaged couples will receive a special blessing.
Cost
The cost of the program is $150.00 per couple. Payment can be made in person before or at the time of the class, or you may choose to mail a check to our parish with a note specifying that it is for our Engagement Experience Program.
