Baptism

The celebration of baptism begins the initiation and faith journey of your child and is a joyful experience for our community of faith as it brings new life into our parish.

Having your child baptized also marks the beginning of new responsibilities and commitment on the part of you, the parents, and the St. Thomas More Catholic Community. Through this sacrament, our goal is to journey with you and your family in support of your family’s spiritual needs. It is our honor and pleasure to accompany you as you begin to pass on the faith to your child. We take these responsibilities and commitments very seriously and are excited to partner with you in the faith formation of your child.

  • When Do Baptisms Take Place?

Baptisms for infants and children under the age of 7 are typically celebrated during the weekend Mass that you and your family attend, or on Sundays at 1:30 pm in the Church.

  • How To Schedule A Baptism?

Your child’s baptism can be scheduled after the following requirements are completed:

    • The parents have attended a Baptism Preparation Class
    • The “Request For Baptism Form", which is available to download below, has been submitted
    • The Godparents have attended a Baptism Preparation Class
    • Godparent Forms are signed by the Godparent(s)
    • A copy of the child’s birth certificate has been provided
    • The suggested donation of $75.00 (per child) and all the necessary documentation has been received

    Please Note:

All forms are available to download on this page. Everything must be submitted in person at the Baptism Preparation Class or to the Parish Office. Please do not send documentation electronically.

Please do not make any arrangements such as travel, catering, etc. until the preparation process is completed, and you have received confirmation on the date and time for the Baptism.

  • Baptism Prep Class For Parents & Godparents

Our Baptism Preparation session is a mandatory requirement for all parents and godparents. This session is held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Church unless otherwise specified. Both parents and godparents must attend this session, as it provides important information and guidance for the baptism process.

Parents and godparents are encouraged to attend the session before the child is born, to ensure they are well-prepared for the baptism. If the godparents are members of a different Catholic community, they may attend a baptism preparation session at their own parish and provide a letter or certificate of completion.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to preparing for this important sacrament.
